Effect Detroit is a nonprofit working to revitalize Detroit’s historically under-invested neighborhoods. Acting as a “community quarterback,” we coordinate housing, workforce, and community resources to help neighborhoods become stable and economically thriving.
We focus on strengthening systems that support long-term prosperity: ensuring access to quality Pre-K–12 education, expanding workforce and economic opportunities, and supporting housing stability through local development. We partner with residents, schools, developers, workforce organizations, and public agencies to align efforts so that residents benefit directly from neighborhood growth.
Currently, our work is focused in the Virginia Park and Herman Kiefer areas, where we aim to break cycles of long-term disinvestment and create pathways for families to thrive.
